Hereticks history in wrestling
Wrestling has always played an important role in Heretick's life. His father introduced him to wrestling at a very young age, and Heretick would watch the shows every week, just to see his favorite stars like Hulk Hogan, the Undertaker, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and even the late Andre the Giant. Heretick looked up to the athletes with pride, hoping that one day he would go head to head with them.
Around age 11, Heretick started his own federation in his hometown of New York City. The wrestlers were neighborhood kids who were often bored, especially on long summer days. The fed was not very professional though. Cardboard title belts, a ring that consisted of a piece of grass with twine around it, and no entrance music. It was a great way to pass time, but Heretick became rather bored with it. He left the fed, but the problem was that all matches were held in his yard. One of the wrestlers paid Heretick for the fed rights and it was over. He would have gotten more, but the fed didn't even have a name. Heretick thought his hopes for wrestling were long since over. That was until he moved to Florida.
Heretick relocated to Daytona Beach, Florida at age 12 in 1996. Pursuing music as his major career goal, Heretick made friends fast. When he was 14, he joined a band with a few local guys who needed a drummer. The topic of starting a wrestling federation came up as the guys watched a backyard wrestling tape over a few cold beers. They drew out the plans for it, and began to round up the wrestlers. Kids from all over, as well as a few adults tried out for the fed. Only 25 made it. Of those, 3 were fired within the first week for not showing up at events, bringing the count down to 22. The fed was called the APWF, the All Pro Wrestling Federation. Maybe not professional, but definitely entertaining. With backyard wrestling as their premise, the APWF wrestlers were as extreme as extreme gets. The matched took place in a guy named Tim's backyard. The first events were actually construction meetings. These were used to build the ring (built from plans found on the internet), the entrance ramp, and to set up the PA system for the microphones and the entrance themes. Last came a big screen TV that was bought at a yardsale for , this was placed at the top of the ramp, an APWF titantron. Real wrestlers entrance themes were played through it. Some of the wrestlers hired became stage crew and announcers, bringing the active wrestler total to 18. The APWF was under way.
The APWF had its first event on a warm summer day in June 1999. The titles were up for grabs and tournaments took place. All the belts were real this time, purchased once again off of the internet. During this first event, Heretick came away as both hardcore champion and APWF undisputed champion. As time progress, injuries began to mount. As a no holds barred federation, the chance of injury increased. Within the first three months of the APWF's existence, 8 wrestlers were either sidelined by major injury(broken ribs, legs, arms, even a minor skull fracture), or pulled out by their parents in fear of major injury. The final blow came three days after Heretick's birthday, on September 22nd, 1999.
Heretick had achieved every title that the APWF had, and posessed all of them throughout his reign in the APWF. This match was different though. A hardcore match for all of the titles, winner takes all, between Heretick and his rival, Tim. The match was a brutal one. The two wrestlers ended up on the second story of Tim's roof. The bout continued. Heretick got the best of Tim and chokeslammed him off of the roof. Tim tried to hit some couch cushions by the trash cans, but missed. His back wrapped around the top of a nearby chainlink fence. He fell and was motionless. Immediately the ref new something was wrong and ended the match. Heretick raced down the ladder to his fallen opponent, who was actually his best friend. 911 was called and Tim was rushed to the hospital. After an X-ray, things looked even worse. The impact of Tim's fall had cracked three disks in his spine. The doctors said that if Tim lived, he would more than likely be paralyzed for life. Miraculously, Tim made a full recovery within a month, and regained all feeling and motion in his body. On Halloween 1999, the remaining wrestlers met at Tim's house to discuss the future of the APWF. Tim would no longer wrestle and Heretick was hesitant about returning too. It was then decided that the APWF was too dangerous. They decided to put an end to it. The ring and belts were sold to some kids in an adjacent town, the TV moved into Tim's living room and the PA and microphones became more equiptment for the band. Since then, Heretick has been hesitant about wrestling again, still haunted by the memory of almost killing his best friend.
Just recently, Heretick has taken up wrestling again. As well as being as part of the XWF, he also wrestles small matches whenever the opportunity arises. He also plans to go out for WWE Tough Enough in the near future.
